Close friends Banu and Bhuntu work in a clothing factory in Bangalore, 1,000 miles from their rural villages, where an arranged marriage would be likely. But they are disappointed to find strict living conditions in the hostel provided by the factory. British-born Orlanda Ruthven recruited them, but becomes increasingly involved in negotiating for their working rights. Will Banu and Bhuntu stay together in Bangalore?
